whats the reliability report on late 90s ocean runners in the 115-150 range? i have seen a few of these locally that are affordable and would like to know if they are a motor worthy of using as a replacement? thanks

Have never personally heard any negative feed back on them, unless abused by a previous owner of course, as is with any outboard.

Re: late 90's Ocean Runners-Good?

I own a 95 175hp Oceanpro. Virtually bulletproof if maintained properly. Late 90's (98-99) OMC had some QC issues, but the small block V6 150-175 hp 60 degree looper motors do not seem to be affected. The 115 hp is a 4 banger with a good reputation as well, but I am not as familiar. As Hightrim states, any used motor is only as good as the previous owner.
