i've never seen a boat with a transmission.
boats just don't need transmissions, they don't work like that.
i bet you would never get out of 1st gear.
you can't coast long enough to use a transmission.

Just ride the clutch and start in any gear you choose for what speed you want to cruise at.
Like........
1st gear- 2mph
2nd - 4
3rd - 7
4th - 13

You most likely will be changing the pressure plates every 3 -4 outings.

years ago my dad put a buick engine and trans in a boat. boy, that thing flew.
