If you can lock that stainless part end inside oar lock pin would be fantastic, hole seems a bit thin to match pin diam, probably will need to wider a bit.

On our old Avon Rover, we mounted the top with bolts through the oar locks. We are looking at a piece of padded tube or wood with a female fitting which would rest on the tube and be fastened in place with rope or cord through the oar locks.

The boat is at the dealers right now for a slow leak, so we have not attempted to mount the top. We plan to use it in a few weeks, so we will have to work on it in the near future.

I dont understand, what is an ear lock pin? the pin is what is small on this bimini its too thin, the rest is fine, i dismounted it for the pic. its the pin that the pain in the arze and will not fit inside the oar holes cuz it slips out from being way too thin. I will have a look at those metal part on US ebay.

That part if fine, but I need the pin part for it to work. the plastic part which is shte same as the metal is fine its not broken, its the other part that attatches to this part that is broken by the pin part. Do you know where I can get the stainless stell part to go with this one part you just posted? if not, how do I just attatch this without a pin where do I put it?

Zodie, check this pic.

What you need to do, is remove all plastic eye ends, remove metal rivets with a drill and broach, place stainless steel ones at both pole's end, where plastic eye ends used to live, secure with allens to poles. The new stainsless steel eye ends will be locked inside the oar lock pin an secured with round ball, check Zizzon's 11th post down, 3er pic to see. But probably you have a different type of oar locks, can you place a pic of yoour lock system without attached oars.

Oar locks are the plastic system glued on top tubes at which oars are locked/secured by means of a middle stainless steel pin.

i checked his post but cant see clearly wha you mean. Look at this one, will this work? Does this just go on the end of the pole and then this ball goes into the socked at the oars? Why don't you post a clear picture of your oar system without oar. Zodiac seems uses a different type that the common found in most Asian manufactured sibs, the ones that Zizzon bought are for his and my type of oar lock.

Other thing that can do is go to a workshop and ask if possible to make same exact broken plastic piece in stailess steel and use your pole as seen on the posted pic. If your Zodiac system has a middle hole, probably could place the posted spare part inside hole and just secure bimini with side straps ? Anyway would need to check pole ext diameter to match.

Here is a pic off the net of the same zodiac oar and oar lock its for bombard but looks exactly as the zodiac.. that little gray tab you see had to be pushed in, in order to open the hole for the peg you see beign inserted. The dang thing I had was smoothe and nothing to snap into place. I have asked about making some in steel it will cost ONE HUNDRED EUROS ouch. I am in contact with a seller on ebay USA, she has the part I need in steel with teh ball to insert into the hole but its for the 7/8 pole. Now she is trying to see if she can locate the oar peg I need for my size pole. apparently the standard is the 7/8 and I got the crappy thinner one. I have a mind to ship the sucker back lock stock and barrel.

Can't the Zodiac dealer get you a new crappy peg under warranty, this time place it with silk fingers. Was the peg broken while assembling the bimini or installed while cruising ?

I posted hte link did the mods remove it? let me see if I can find it again. We nver got to use the bimini, it broke during installation the pegs are too skinny and with no grooves so smoothe. they needed to be a peg with ball end that will snap and stay this was long thin and too narrow for the hole it was in. crappy part. here is the link again

Hi guys, just to inform you all who helped me. My Bimini Woes are over. Dealer sent me two new replacement part that broke and two rubber feet to be glued on to the zodiac boat. They also sent me original two in one zodiac glue that I will use to glue the rubber suction feet to the boat and therefore it will now WORK. I was surprised as I just wrote to the owner asking what he suggested and I got this in the mail free of charge. I am quite pleased. Once it is mounted I will post a pic so you all can have a look. It will have nothing to do with the oar holder but its own holder. yipppeeeee

Does anyone have any suggestions for a launching wheel setup (an inexpensive one if possible..) for an intex 4 mariner inflatable? or any other transomless inflatable like mine? here are some pics to show what the boat looks like and possible places to mount such setup. Thank you!!
