Good news is the prices keep falling!

How much do you want to spend?

You could get by with a 17" for a good price "200/250" or get a 19" "240/375"

I just got a sweet 19" from New Egg.

New-Egg

Re: LCD Monitor?

I really like the Samsung lcd monitors. Pretty much all the computer lcd's are going to e gret and last a long time.

In the other room we've got a 19" hp monitor that looks great.,.,but if I were to go to the store to get a new one it would be hard not to take the Samsung 910B. The Sony's are great, but i'm not a huge fan of their design, whereas the Samsung looks much nicer to me at least.

I also have seen a few of the offbrand ones that NewEgg or Tigredirect has, and they aren;t bad either.

Hi, to answer your question I recommend the 19" unit. It's a significant size increase over the 17" and you won't be sorry. I bought a X2GEN, 19" LCD from TigerDirect for about $200 after the rebate and it works beautifully, blows the old 17" CRT outa the water not to mention I got my desk top space back for my beer. Me thinks that in few years CRT units will be obselete.

Re: LCD Monitor?

Wifey got me a 17" LCD for Christmas. Turns out it had 1 bad pixel right in the middle. When we went to exchange it they were sold out of the 17" I really wanted a 19" anyway, so we upgraded. Not sorry I did. The 19" is much easier on the eyes.

Ours is the MAG brand from Best Buy. Just a generic, but looks good and has a great picture IMO.

Re: LCD Monitor?

Just from what I've seen at Best Buy, The new LG's are super. But, also super expensive. I can't believe the difference in cost for 2 more inches.

I also have a couple of clients with the DELL 19". It also is super.

I find THIS PLACE very helpful in locating the product per $.

Re: LCD Monitor?

LCD's have beautiful images but me wonders about their durability. I just threw away a 1.5 y/o 17" LCD Kogi Monitor that a friend gave me. You turn it on, it would stay on for a minute then turn off. I called the MFG and they said it would be $250 to repair.

Right now for the money I'm going to stand firm with my 19" envision CRT.

Re: LCD Monitor?

Yea Boomer, I was wondering about that also.
I just like to get away form this bulky CRT, but don't want to throw my money at something that will just last a couple years or so.

(9751)
