I just picked up a used lower unit for my L drive. Although I cant tell you what outboard it was off I know its an exact replacement.
What happened to yours? can you have it rebuilt? sometimes its cheaper.
L drive although feared by many are very simple. The only odd ball part is where it goes through the hull. The power head is a standard 120 force and the lower unit has been around for years on various models. So yes, its very interchangeable.
