So I'm looking at the exploded view for the carb on my 1981 15horse Johnson and it shows a "lead shot" that goes in the top part of the carb. I didn't see one come out when I took the cap off. Can someone tell me what that's all about and if there needs to be a "lead shot" in there? Thanks in advance.

Do you know what a lead shot is? It is a small ball of lead, like the stuff that comes out of a shotgun barrel. It is pounded into a hole to seal it. Doesn't come out unless you dig it out.

EDIT: yeah, yeah, I know. In the interest of the environment, shotguns use steel shot these days.
