Yep. Just did mine this year, jacked it up and put jack-stands under the trailer.

Re: Leaf Spring Question

on my trailer the springs have one end with a hole and the other has an upward hook on it. What stops the end with the upward hook from coming off?

The actual length of the spring between the eye and the hook/slide bolt.

I changed my springs with the boat still on the trailer. Just block it up with wood or better yet, jack stands. Do NOT use cinder blocks or bricks as they can crumble without warning.

No you would want to do it on some cement.

Re: Leaf Spring Question

grass would be fine, just need to take precautions. Having a vehicle attached to the trailer no matter what surface you are doing it on! Without that, the trailer can roll/slide off the stands. Also, use TWO methods of supporting it, so when one fails your head isn't the backup. I would have no issues doing this on grass if I had some wood under the jack & jackstands to keep it from sinking in.

Re: Leaf Spring Question

Did mine some weeks ago, much easier to work on with the boat off the trailer...especially if you need to cut/torch some of those rusty #$*&^ bolt......
