While replacing the fuel hoses in my 1989 25' Grady White Sailfish, I inadvertently drilled into a hydraulic copper tube that runs along the starboard gunwale. I assume it is for either the hydraulic steering or trim tabs.

Can I just cut the bad part of the tube out and patch it with hydraulic hose double clamped at both ends? I know cars use rubber/neoprene for hydraulics. Or, should I try some form of compression coupler?

Anys suggestions?
