I've got a 99 Johnson 150 ocean pro that has a carburetor on it that want stop leaking. I've put new seat and needle in it along with float and other seals and o-rings that come on the kit. At first it was coming out of the main nozzle of the carb and from time to time it would seal up not leak. But majority of the time it's leaking or shooting up and out should I say. I took an old one that come out of one of my other carbs and installed it just to see. Now it's coming out of the main nozzle and some kind of port or I guess just some sort of hole on the top right side of the carb. This piece comes up and has a 90 degree bend on it and is open at the end. And on the bend it has a pin hole. I've tried looking this item up and in diagrams it doesn't show it. I'm not quiet sure what to think about this still leaking even after a new kit was installed. Maybe i put enough info for someone to understand. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Leaking Carb!

Hi Carb! Your pin hole at the top is a vent. You need to reset your float level. Make sure float is not defected. Your needle and seat is not holding, check your needle to make sure its the same length as old one. This should stop your problem. (if its a all still needle not with rubber tip take punch and lightly tap. This will help seal it.) Take carb. and turn upside down lightly blow with mouth to see if it seals.
