so i managed to replace the impeller and got every thing back together and running.problem is of the 4 bolts and one nut that holds the lower unit on,the nut (by the rear of the lower unit ,opposite the prop) is rounded off .i could not manage to get the nut back on .the 4 other bolts that go in from the under side of lower unit are all in good shape and very tight.i noticed a small amount of exhaust coming from the area that this rounded off bolt would seal up.is there any damage that could occur if i ran the motor this way? ...or do i have to remove the lower unit for the 3rd time and have someone tap new threads on the buggered bolt?

Hey Dan.

Tell ya' what. If it was mine, I'd make sure it was together like it should be. Takes the worry out of having a good day on the water. Just my opinion cause I don't know wether or not your safe running like it is or not. Probably be OK, but......it's alway on your mind.
