Has anyone ever used a product called steelflex made by a company called Fasco unlimited. My keel is leaking somewhere I thought i had fixed the problem with 5200 and a rivet gun BUT it still leaks. The hull apears to be hollow and when i bought the boat the previous owner sealed up the two holes in it, they appear to be factory holes but i am unsure....Any ideas

ive used a product called"coat it" many times in the past. Its cheap at only $40 for a 8# kit. Goes on thick and stays where you put it. In fact I just used it on my 18 ft SS.

I think I read on this forum not to close the 2 holes in the bottom from the keel area . Check with Cheapboat kev He would know.

Does your ss have a hole in the bow and stern of the keel itself?

The heel strip needs to drain if you live where it freezes, or it will split. I think you will find the leak is coming from the bow where the hull side come together. There is a fairly large gap there that the origional builders poured some sort of sealer in. This sealer dries out, shrinks and falls out causing the leak. I don't have close up but it is in the area ponited to in the photo.
