During the summer i had to refill a little gear oil at my alpha one drive twice, so now it was time to check for leaks. As you can see at the picture i have a leak at the lower shift shaft. The manual say to split upper and lower unit and remove the 2 screws holding the shift shaft assembly and pull straight up. Is it that easy?
When i put pressure on the drive (10psi) the lower shift shaft was pushing up by it self, about 2 cm before i saw it and pushed it back in. Isn't that wrong?
The service manual No14 page 3B-47 also tells to remove the shift crank. Should I? I'm afraid of not being able to install it again, or will it come out together with the shift shaft?
It doesn't seems to be necessary to you specials tools for this operation. Can you confirm?
And lastly, which parts should I replace? I'll appreciate your time to answer to my questions. Thanks.
Ps. there wasn't any water in oil or bellows which confuses me....
