Leaking Lower Unit?

Make: Evinrude
Model: 88 SPL (90HP)
Year: 87

Queston: This photo is not of my motor, and does not leak as bad as this, however is this OK? (circled area)

I think so. it is the weep hole for the muffler area. same area as the shaft and shift lever. made so that there would be no standing water in those areas

if there's no water in the gearcase, then it's okay - those areas aren't meant to contain water.
