I have two leaks in the VRO system. One at the primer bulb near the oil tank, and another at the very front of the vro unit. This leak was found running down the four wires and after removing the four front screws, it looks like the seal ring between the oil' in' component and the rest of the pump is leaking. Even though these are very small leaks, I don't want to risk problems, and will just delete the vro rather than buying a new pump ($$). I'm fine with pre-mixing and having some peace of mind by just using the fuel side of the pump since it is presumably ok.
I think I've found good directions for this. Just disconnect the oil tank and wires, cut and plug the oil line near the vro inside the motor, and disconnect the four wire connector. Seems easy...am I missing anything?
I also may need to replace the small u-bend pulse hose and the gas feed hose coming into the bottom of the vro. These show what may be a very small leak as well, or it's just run off from the vro leak. Either way, better safe than sorry. Should I get these from BRP or will regular fuel hose work. I'm concerned about the tight bends. Do I also need to check/replace the pulse valve that is going into the block?
Stupid question: I beleive I know how these work but am not sure if once I remove the VRO oil side, if the pulse hose/valve even matters.
Any other advice you have for this project will be much appreciated!!
