Re: leaky hull question

i am by far an expert here but do you have a wide shot of the trailer. could it be some bunks out of adjustment and too much weight on that roller??

ps you can adjust photos by using microsoft picture manager or the site that your using to post pics can do it. in photobucket you can pre set all photos that up load to a certain size, check preferences

Welcome to iboats >>>>>> photo instructions ;) http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=285637

Yes you have a little work ahead .... moving and adjusting rollers on the trailer....maybe change or add some bunks....

Then we have to guide you through the sloppy improper repair that someone did. Now some of that black could be from your rollers.

Read the photo instructions and post some side shots of the entire boat.

Re: leaky hull question

thanks for the help with the pics it took me a few try's but i got it figured out anyways heres a side shot you cant see the rollers but it sits level on the bunk boards an the marks on the hull are dark brown an not from the roller its some kind of putty or something but it doesn't look like it should be under water thats for sure I'm thinking I'm gonna put a sanding wheel in the angle grinder an try an get it all off an replace with new fiberglass any suggestions on where to get the resin an whatnot to do this with

Re: leaky hull question

I would check the hull and see if you have soaked flotation foam....that would create extra weight too.

Wet foam will add weight. This will put extra strain on the motor. The wet foam also keeps water against that stringers and deck making them both rot faster.

I know taking the boat out of the water when the weather is nice sucks, but if I were you I would do the floor and stringers now. You got a smaller boats so it shouldn't take to much time or money. Plus it will make your nerves sit better when your on the water.

Re: leaky hull question

your right it does suck to have to work on my boat in the nice weather especially since i just got the boat about 3 weeks ago all i want to do is go fishing but for the sake of trying to save a Lil money I'm gonna check out the foam an stringers since the previous owners didn't keep up on maintenance maby i can stop the damage before i have to replace everything does anyone have any suggestions on where to get the resin an fiberglass mat and what products to use when i bought the boat the guy told me that the floor was only a few years old but the guy who put it in didn't use marine ply he just used regular ply an its getting a Lil soft around the seats so I'm guessing that nothing under the floor is right either
