Mercruiser I6 165hp with a Rochester 2GC carb. I just happened to notice while tuning up the boat that the idle mixture screws would leak after shutting off the engine. Doesn't leak while running, 1st pic is while engine is on, and 2nd pic is about 5 minutes after shutting off engine. I've always had hard start when warm problems with this boat. Could this be an indication the carb is leaking after shutdown? I checked float level and float drop and everything is within specs. Doesn't leak to a point of dripping of carb base, just enough to wet the base and for me to notice. DSCN3087.JPG DSCN3092.JPG

Are you certain it is coming from the adjuster screws and not around the base plate? I ask because I don't see how fuel can leak upwards... Unless I am seeing it wrong.

Definitely coming from the idle mixture screws.Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean when you think the fuel leaks upwards. The mixture screws are directly below the float bowl.

I was stating that the fuel doesn't leak up , but down. And the reason I said that was in the picture it looked like there was fuel behind the adjuster screws on the base of the carb. It could just be the lighting or angle but it looks like fuel is on there...
