LearJet on the water?

I was talking to a local boat builder who had a project of his own on the side. He said he was making a half scale prototype of a vacuum formed kevlar hull design that was essentially a jet airplane that would fly but could land in the bay waters. Has something like this been done before, combining jet engines and water landings, cuase I'm thinking Howard Hughes' went of the deepend with a similar wild idea.

If you know something out there or know where to find pics i'd like to see them.

remember the Spruce Goose did fly, the government lost interest, and the war conditions changed.

ya, but the Russian gor it right with the flying wing. And they did manage a huge cargo plane with it that could fly under radar and over submarine detection and deliver munitions, they just lost the war, and then couldn't afford to continue the design.

Could you imagine a spruce goose that could take of like an Osprey heicoptor or the X-35 fighterjet the Marines us like in Die HArd.

You could land it on water, dock at off-shore casinos, resorts, island, cruise ships, even a small 20 passenger one would seem like it would flurish with today's instantaneous gratification type generations.
