leg oil

Today i drained the oil from my 1989 110hp evinrude and the oil was a grey milky color is this suppose to be that color. Thanks for help

Grey would indicate damage in the gearcase.<br />White would indicate water.<br />Black...needs to be replaced.<br /><br />TMD

If there is damage would i know this when i took the boat out in the water.i did not find any metal filings in the oil our on the drain plug.If it is water in the oil how do i check to see where water is getting in.Also when replaceing oil should a person change the plastic washer on the plugs. thanks for help.

change those little washers every year they are not that expensive<br />you can do a pressure ck
