Let 'er rip

Hi. Because of the lake I'm on, I very seldom am able to open up my Merc 50 at full throttle... I'm thinking it's a good idea to find a deep lake and just let my Merc rip at full throttle for about 3 - 5 minutes to clear out any crap I may have built up in the carbs / engine... kinda like taking your car out on the freeway after miles of city driving just to clear out the engine...any truth to this theory??

not going to hurt it. you could do a decarb first, then run heck out of it.

2 strokes have a tendancy to build up carbon when trolling or not running WOT at all for long periods of time. IMO, i think that its a good idea to do that since it hasn't been ran hard, and it will definately clean everything out.
