The power tilt on my 1988 Force outboard won't keep the motor lifted for more than fifteen minutes due to a leaky seal at the top so I'm contemplating biting the bullet and buying a CMC Model 130. I know it's over $500, but I contacted one of the board members and he said it could take up to $350 to rebuild mine, so I figured $150 for all new with replaceable parts might be the best way to go. I'm interested in how difficult the installs are, as well as pics of the installs. I DO have another 50 hp Force from 1990 that has a completely different power tilt unit on it, but I don't know if it even works, it is however in mint condition and doesn't appear to have any tell-tale grease or slime on the outside of the unit.

I have a cmc unit and it has been a great investment. I have about 3 years of saltwater use and it works great. Two benefits of it are you can trim the motor at speed much higher than the standard trim and it gives you about six inches of set back for better balance and you can mount the engine higher for more speed. Also due to the design as you trim ,it actually raises your motor higher, so not only do you get a trim you get some jackplate effect too. Very easy to install it just bolts on. A great product.

I have a owners manual for a PT-130 model. I bought one brand new last spring. Haven't used it yet, due to motor problems. I did install it on my boat. Really easy to do. I have an 1973 65 hp triple Johnson. I bought mine on ebay. Paid $551.00 including shipping. Works great so far. They have pics on ebay. Hope this helps.
