I have this 1998 Capri 1952, and I just got the cable that I need to install my Lowrance 335C Df in my boat. Where would be the best area to install my antennae module?

Height won't make much difference, but you need as clear a view of the sky as you can. Can't tell if you have a radar tower or not, but if you do, then that is best. If you put it on your bow, you may have some obstruction from your window and top, but it may also work just fine.

My Lowrance has an internal antenna and I have no issues with it mounted on my dash for seeing the satellites through my window and soft top.

I do not have a tower so I will probably install it on the Bow. What I noticed though is when the antennae is not connected it will say " cannot connect to module", but when I connect the module it will not even show those "Bars" that indicates Waas, it will just show where you are in the map.

Downloaded the 335 emulator.

The bars are on a different screen than the map.

Hit "pages" and scroll left to "Stat" to get the satellite page. Curious. The emulator just shows "GPS Module Not Responding".

Thanks for your respond, I will check later when the rain stop. My Gps is on the boat and is raining here in Surrey right now.

On my fishing boat, I mount the ext antenea on the back corner of the boat, near the transom. I picked the corner nearest to my transducer. My theory was, it would provide slightly better accuracy for marking structure.

That is a good idea, I have a shoot thru though which I am planning on installing outside.. beside where my other depth and fish finder transducer (Eagle). I was always told that do not remove it if it does nor bother you( the other transducer). I will use the Eagle as a back up.

So I put it on stat and I got around 6 bars almost all solids, ny antennae is resting on top of the cup holder (engine cover). I tried it then inside the boat with the cover on and still 6 bars almost all sokids. So I think I will install it right beside my reciever and I will only use 2 feet of cable. Less resistance.

The slightly less resistance in the connector wire will not improve sat reception. I would just coil up the wire and tuck out of the way. That way, if the need arrises (change latter or move to another boat) or you upgrade in a few years (and sell), the short GPS antenea cable will not hamper things.

Thanks noted, and that is what I will do.

I noticed today that when I go to Stat, I get those numbers but there is: POS error but below it are numbers. There are around 6 bars blue solid. And when I checked what is loaded it say inlet 3. Is this unit working properly?

In the menu near were your working there is BOX to require WAAS if it is checked and you dont have WAAS SAT reception the unit will not work

Thee have also been a LOT of firmware updates for both the unit and the LGC as they offen sit in boxs a long time they may require updates to function at there best
