I have a mercruiser 3.0l with a alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive, do I have both LH or how can I tell. I put the drive back on assuming it was RH but now I'm wondering if I made a mistake. If they are both LH is the only problem I have with the linkage and the way the prop turns? I feel so dumb.

standard engines turn CCW looking at the flywheel so that would be CW looking at the pully ,standard outdrives turn the prop CW in forward gear

With a conventional LH engine and a conventional outdrive, the prop turns clockwise when under power in the water. So with the engine off and in forward gear the prop will lock when you turn it counterclockwise. Remember when the prop is in the water turning clockwise the resistance from the water acts in a CCW direction.
