Re: Lift boat from trailer

I've looked at all you pictures. It looks like you have a tilt trailer and I suspect when jacking the weight on the back of the trailer is causing it to tilt. That should not be happening unless the tilt lock pin is defective.

As a temp solution you might be able to clamp the 2 sections together with a u-bolt or big c-clamp. I strongly suggest that fix the lock pin before you tow or launch the boat again.

Yes it is a tilt trailer. I just learned about these not being the trend. Learn as we go. It's a boat n trailer needing lot (TLC)/updates but i will stick with it and the forums to get it right  post pics as I go :watermelon:

this some of the issue I was noticing tilt wise ... trying again this weekend.

I'm looking for two u bolts to place in that spot. I might try mcclain's or trailer shop since lowes or home depo does not carry that size.

I happen to like a tilt trailers but if you don't want it to tilt any more, 2 high strength 1/2" bolts drilled through the moving parts near where the chain is hanging will solved the problem forever and cost a lot less than 2 u-bolts.

Tilts come in handy on shallow ramps which we have a lot of here in KY.

you are making this sooo much harder than it has to be... put the tilt lock pin back on and block the back of the trailer up... then jack up the front of the boat .... keep going till it comes off of the trailer

I will get chance to work on boat this week Posting a few pics of it I was able to fit into garage. Since I'm totally new to boat restoration including trailer. Will be posting additional pictures to ask questions and advice ... Everything from the forum has been awesome :D Of course time n work is not that friendly with me. One of the reason I feel the boat needs to restored is obvious weak soft floor/stringers that have wood rot. It has a second gas tank that is not connected thus I would like to remove it and use the connected tank. I'm open for feedback on this does one sell it what ever the case
This project is increments of course thanx for any advice
