OK put the pontoon in the water today an ran the electric drives. they worked very well.

when it came time to put it back on the trailer it was a different story!

I have a lift trailer and it was very hard to get it lined up without hitting the the inside of the toons. Then when it was on the trailer there was still allot of side to side movement till it was pulled from the water.

when I got it out it was all cockeyed:(
tried a few times with the same outcome.

I think some kind of side rollers would help a bunch (keep the trailer off the toons and keep it strait front to back. (If that makes since)

does anyone know where i could find roller like that??

also putting it on the trailer the ribs of the deck grind as they slide across the trailer. sounds bad. Is that what is supposed to happen?

Re: lift trailer issues

Are you 'Lifting' your pontoon out of the water, or just using the trailer and pulling the boat out?

If 'Pulling' it out then make sure that the bow wench is firmly holding the boat against the forward stops.

Back the trailer in just deep enough that you are not 'dragging' the deck over much more than the last foot or so of the trailer to the front stops. Ideally, less is better.

Many lift trailers can have a wooden 'rub' rail installed on the outsides of the main 'rack' so as to reduce the gap between the rack and the 'toons'. Carpet covering these would be a great idea to minimize any possible scratching of the toons. Adjust width to suit your combination, adjust depth a bit by using 2 X 6, 8, etc, to lower the contact point on the tubes.

If I widen the top rack with wood. When loading the toons have a tab that hangs off them.( front & back ) To keep the wash down. Won't these hit when pulling on?

Is there anyone who can send me a photo showing how they mounted the wood to the top rack?? I need to see it to fully understand. But I think I'm on the right track with this. Thank you soo much!!
