Lifting my V8?

anyone know where i can get the special bracket used to lift my V8? it has three bolts on at and a lifting ring and bolts to the flywheel.somone have one i could borrow for a weekend? i need to lift my motor to repair my P.O.S land & sea jackplate! thanks...james

hammer i know you like to play with your v8 , you can get a lifting eye for 30.00 from kerrs,marine tools in florida/#407 656 2089, i bought one for myself, <br /> v8 all the way<br /> John

Here's one I made to use with my harmonic balancer puller which is what I use for pulling flywheels.<br /><br />

Hooty....<br /> what kind of bolts did you use? i tried metric and standard and bolth didn't wan't to work. thanks guy's. i wanted to do what hooty did but if i can't figure out the bolts, i'll give Kerrs a call! thanks Mr Gibbs!....james :D

It's a 5/8-18 (fine thread) bolt with two flat washers welded on the head. <br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

hooty...<br /> what i meant is what kind of bolts do you use to bolt your lifter to the flywheel? can i get the three bolts at a hardware store? thanks...james

Yes sir. The three pulling/lifting holes in the flywheel on my 200hp 'rude are 5/16-24 (fine thread). Use a good grade of bolts (5 or better).<br />(Wish I had a V8).<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
