The research I found says anywhere from 860 to 950lbs dry and fully dressed. Mine is fully dressed and wet right now. So, that is what I have been working to...
engine, flywheel, coupler, aluminum intake manifold, carb, cast-iron exhaust manifolds, about 575. add 25# for the flywheel housing and the bobtail is about 600

transom shield and outdrive with props adds about another 150

big block adds another 100

Fuel pump to fuel filter is stainless steel. Fuel pump to carb is rubber marine fuel line with crimped steel ends.

Thanks for the bracket pictures. I haven't found any like those to buy. They would work on the back but they wouldn't work on the front without some disassembly.
If bias metal, I would have recommended at least painting, but it looks like you are doing fine!!!!!! Nice build!

Well, went to put the 2 ton load leveler on the engine and found that it is too long. That helps prevent angular stress but it won't allow the chains to clear the cooling system plumbing. Back to the 1500lb load leveler. I will have to pick up longer chains for it.

Over the last 40 years, I must have installed or re-installed a dozen MCs. I have never been able to easily install a complete motor with exhausts and risers attached because of mount alignment issues (seeing) and at the same time getting the risers inside the riser/y-pipe bellows. The Y-pipe is easily "bumped." One time, I managed to dislodge the y-pipe (I didn't know) and later had to pull motor and reattach Y-pipe to stop leak. However, being a Sea Ray fan, they don't offer much engine compartment room. Good luck!

I have the advantage that my transom and floor is wide open (full restoration). I plan to build the dog house after the engine and drive are in for the final time and plan to make the transom area covers easily removable for future access. Right now the test fit is to make sure that everything fits into the stringer area and where I can put the thru hull sea water pickup.

Sounds like a plan!!!!!! External engine compartments are always in a fisherman's way, until the fisherman has to work on the motors. I have only owned one MC that had a box, and it was much easier to work on than the rest. Good luck!

I haven't lifted yet but here are pics of how I have it rigged. Note, the bolts will be grade 8 and correct length to tighten against the heads. I will add grade 8 flat washers so the heads don't pull through the chain links. The first pic is the load leveler and how the chains sneak through between the cooling hoses, the second two are the front mounting points/bolts on the heads, the next two are the rear mounting points/bolts on the heads, and the last picture is a spacer I use so that the chains don't press in at the top against the intake manifold edges with too much force. Now I just have to figure out how to get the boat low enough to clear the gunwale when lifting. My gantry crane is just about a foot too short at its max height.
