I have a 23' cuddy with an enclosed head. I already have a light in the cuddy and another one in the head. They have a standard incandescent bulb in them. I want to make sure that I have enough battery juice for an all niter. If I replace the current incandescent bulbs with led bulbs in the same fixture, will I really save that much draw on my battery? I would also like to find a really dim led I can leave on all night long for the kids. A night light. What are your thoughts.

also. I do have dual batteries.

A really dim light you can leave on all night...... A chemical light stick!!! Uses NO battery power, does not get hot, is safe, and works GREAT!!!!

I'm on a local rescue squad and during a recent, extended power outage I earned a new respect for lightsticks. They work well as a nightlight!! We took them to elderly peoples homes and placed them in the bathrooms, halls, and bedrooms to keep them from walking around with candles (no offense to the elderly, but if you have trouble walking or are on oxygen candles are not a good idea).

Sorry, I rambled...... Lightsticks= great nightlight!!!!

LED's use as close to no power as a light can be. Change the bulbs to LED and the lighting will never be the cause of a dead battery. (Unless you leave them on for weeks)

Re: Lighting ???

It's easily possible. The modules I got from ozium draw 20 milliamps.

Lets see... 1 amp per 50 hours. Thats what a radio draws to retain memory.

CFL bulbs are about 4 to 1 ratio for power. LED can be closer to 10 to 1.

Go for the 12 LED lights. You can run them all night with no worries. Easy to set it up for half lighting or less when you leave it on all night.
