Hi Salty,
I can't answer your light question....but I will share where some flounder can be found. Near and around Boy Scout island and the Flats. I dont run a motor gigging flounder. I either wade, pole, or drift. Incomming tide provides some clear water in that area and a good rechargable low power search lite works good for me. I shut off all equipment onboard.

Good Luck!

Buy a deep cycle battery and run lights and trolling motor on it.They can be bought form insterstate battery co for less that $40 if you ask for a blemished battery.

As I remember it, about 5 amps max at full throttle. I could be off an amp or two.

there is a guy I see all the time up here that runs a billion candle power off a generator on the boat, he bow hunts but it is hte same difference so maybe look into a small Honda generator or a battery and some LEDs, lots of light and low power draw.

Well with the market flooded with LED bulbs ....... a 12V battery could last days! Just consider some of the LED lighting technology and I doubt the motor will even have to be hooked up to them.
