I have a like new never started 1986 7.5 gamefisher. I am thinking about selling because I need the money. How much should this outboard be worth? Thanks, "Doc"

Welcome to iboats.

I would think $700-$900 maybe to the right guy and that may take awhile, remember it is still a 25 year old engine even though it has never been started and as they say, something is worth what someone will give you for it.

It depends to how much you need the money, put it on Graigs list at 9, if no one calls in a few days lower the price until you sell it or hit a number that you won't let it go for.

Look at the paper and Graigs list in your area and see what they are selling for to get a starting point.

I'm thinking around $350-$400 max since its a Gamefisher. Someone that doesn't know outboards might give you more for it. Price depends pretty much what area of the country you happen to live. My area you would only get around $300 for it.
You will have to wait for the "right buyer" for that motor if you want big money for it.

I don't see you getting more than $300 for it. Parts are tough to come by for those motors. If it's an Eska-based motor, it isn't even a particularly good motor to begin with.

Sorry no way in any area that motor will sell for 700-900. Like other posters say first its a gamefisher(not really a brand name) two- lack of ava. parts for repairs.
Don't mean to crack on you 5150 but its Craigslist.com not Graigs

A-I am on at 5 am B- I really don't care, he knew what I meant.

To someone that doesn't know motors all they will hear is "never started new" and he could get that but not likely, certainly worth a try.
