Need Help, Replace water pump on 15 hp gamefisher, Can someone help me with getting linkage back right. Can not get it in the right gear position. Thanks Charlie

I am getting too old and stupid, therefore having difficulty understanding your request.

Do you mean that you have changed the waterpump and that now you are having a problem getting the lower unit re-installed,

Or have you got the lower unit installed and now are having shifting problems?

Well, you certainly are a man of few words. Exactly what shift problem? It doesn't line up or what??????

Cannot get what in the right gear position???

Prior to installing the lower unit, did you ensure that the gear shift and the lower unit were both in the same gears?

Sorry Gerry, We've been banging our heads togather and were not gonna give up, We figured out what you just said, had to have them in the same gear. Plus the shaft in the the lower unit was out of adjustment. I thank you for your help. Charlie

Hey Gerry - Saw your last post on the linkage issue. I recently changed my water pump and the side mount control box and I am now unable to get the system into gear or the correct position. Forward seems to be very easy but reverse is a PITA. I may have messed the system by adjusting the linkage cables trying to get to the neutral position etc. I am seriously new to this and may have taken on a job to large for a beginner. Do you know of any sites etc that will show me how this can be corrected.
Mercury 60HP
The side mount control is a quicksilver commander 3000.
