Re: Lip around transom on Blazer boat
Wahoo , first time i been able to access the site since the forums went wierd .
I been debating the side panels you mention Yacht Dr. Iam thinking one of a few ideas .
1) Use 1/4 (with 1 layer of csm on back ) , after deck is in , cut the wood about 1 1/2 inch taller then where ive cut already and insert it behind the panel top thats left , then use csm to bring it flat/level with the top lip that was left after the cut i have .
2) Same as 1 except , after deck is in , cut the panel that left so about 1 1/2 inch is all that left . Off the top theres about 3 inches then it curves down towards the deck , so sand and glass from the curve down all the way to the deck .
3) Leave about 1 1/2 lip from top except on the 1/4 inch wood , use a router so the very top of the wood is about 1/8 thick and insert it behind the lip , this way would make it more flush with thickness of whats left of the lip so maybe alittle less glassing to do
Ive not done much with the boat , as i ran into another issue and was able to ask about it on this forum since i couldn't access it . I asked on another forum and iam not decided just yet what to do if anything about that issue . Sometimes i wonder if iam being over picky / over thinking things .......
