Re: liscence?

Ayuh,........

New York passed the law a few years ago,......
It's been fazed in over the last few years,+ I Believe that starting This Year,......
All Operators Must have a CG Certified Safety course Card in their possession..........

This is Required for Any,+ All Powered Craft........
Paddle boats are still Exempt........

Re: liscence?

Varies by state. Wisconsin requires certification 12 to 16, but it's evolving towards certification for all operators.

Re: liscence?

NY Age 10 - 18 Safety Certificate required. Online certificates not accepted. Over 18 don't need one ( but is a good idea to take the course anyway for obvious reasons). PWC everybody required ti take course.

Re: liscence?

You don't need a "license" to operate a boat in New York unless you are ages 10-17. If you are 10-17 you need to complete a boating certification course. However, if you wish to enter the waters of new Jersey or other states you DO need to be certified regardless of age, something most New Yorkers don't realize- visit www.safeboatingnewyork.com for the current laws and regulations.
