Yes they work as advertised. They should be charged every 3 -5 months depending on outside temperature. Lithium Ion batteries don't perform as well when the temp drops below freezing. Should last you for many years as they have a duty cycle of about a 1000 charges before wearing out.You can do the math on how many times you would be charging it in a year. 1000 amp will turn over a Diesel, make sure you disconnect as soon as possible after using it,they don't like to be backcharged off the alternator.

Boosters help a battery that is not fully discharged, I found that they start to loose effectiveness with larger motors if the battery is severely compromised

1000 amps may turn a diesel over in summer, however won't cut it in winter

For ATV use and small cars it should be perfect

Ilook at it as piece of mind ,especially when atving as the ace has no option for a pull starter like my 500 sportsman did.Yes you could start by the primary clutch but its a pain to get at.I know many guys that have them for sledding also and they have gotten some of the guys out of a pickle so to me their well worth it.When you wake up at camp and its -45 some times that fancy new sled needs a little help .Me, I had a pull start only 670 h.o. that started instantly no matter what with 1 primer push max.

What ever you do, just be extremely careful with lithium-ion batteries. They can be really problematic if handled wrong. The news is a buzz now with Samsung Gal axy 7 batteries exploding and burning down a car in the news this week. Just be careful. JMHO

I have a family member who is a car dealer. He has one that he takes with him to auto auctions. Says it works great. 10-4 on the proper handling of lithium batteries. If you've never seen a lithium battery fire, there are lots of You Tube videos illustrating the issue. Improper charging, use, and storage are all issues. Failure to heed the warnings and handling instructions can cost you your life and/or some very valuable property.

I know a guy that had one melt down as his main battery while flying home. I believe it was a L'ion.

These have become quite popular in the past year or 2 and now there are dozens of no-name and unknown brand LiIon jump starters on the market. Many (most) have very questionable pedigrees ! Stick with a brand name or better yet, one that has been reviewed by a third party on YouTube. Also check Amazon feedback.

These things are NOT designed for long cranks ! Heavy discharge over more than 60 seconds CAN lead to a melt down. They don't work the same as a lead-acid jump pack, so follow the directions.

Last winter a $60 Walmart Li-Ion jump pack started my 4.6L Explorer about 2 dozen times until I finally got Auto Zone to replace their pos battery.

I'm very impressed with what these can do. As a test I disconnected the primary battery and cold-started my truck off ONLY the paperback-size "booster". In winter. Very impressed.
