Little parts that arent around anymore.

You know that you often lose throughs small little parts? Then when you go to find them?? There gone! Well I've finally got what to do. Go to the dealer and ask them. Op's there on back order(3 months ago) and are not in yet? Or are discontinued. What a headache I've run across one, a little nylon washer. To hold the linkages in place. Yep you got it, gone. Now here's what to do. You go to the hardware store and buy Nylon Anchor washers. I bought the BIG ones 2" around. Then bought a Hollow Punch set. For mine I needed the 1/2" and 3/16" hollow punches. With all that together,you can make them yourself. Heres what I got ,see pics below. Now you know what to do.View attachment 344440

maybe a pic would help me understand.

I do have some hole punches and small gasket cutters in my tool box to make things also,
they do come in handy

For my motor (suzuki 1988 dt65) it's the linkage between the oil pump,and the bottom carb. When the throttle is engaged, the bottom carb activates the oil pump. First photo is the oil pump link. Second is were the link goes. Third is the link on the carb. Forth is the homemade washer in place. Fifth is it all together with a cota pin to hold it all in place. The cota pin I had to get at the local hardware store. Grease the linkages with marine grease. That's how I did it. If I was working in a shop setting this is what I would do,for the customer. To get him out on the lake quicker.
