For 2 years Ive been running my boat without the voltage never going over 12.5 volts... I always charge the battery fully the nite before i go out.. However it always bothered me that i could possibly get stuck, But never have.. So I Decided to finally replace the the stator I had diagnosed a year ago but never got to putting it in.. So after battling with the flywheel for an hour to get it off my 85hp force.. I finally replaced the stator... Get the engine all back together and fire it up and all of a sudden its super hard to start and running horribly... So Im like I must have crossed a wire.. Start studying the wiring schematic and low and behold I ended up putting one of the blue cd Box wires on the wrong terminal.. Fix that Fire it up, Runs beautiful .. Test the voltage at idle 13.0 volts raise it to 2000 rpms 14.4 volts.. I cant even tell you guys How happy I am and thanks to Frank Acampora for his help and many others for there input.. Now im just wondering if the extra voltage Will have an adverse effect on how well the engine has always ran..

Thanks Again
Mike

Re: Little Story

14.4 is the correct voltage ..above this the battery starts to gas ( use water ) so thats fine ..all 12 v gear is designed to run on 13.8v which allows for a bit of voltage drop in the wiring and bulbs give there full life / rated wattage at 13.2v as there wire runs are usually very long .
