Evening yall, i was hoping someone could offer me some advice about fixing a new boat i bought. I picked up a 16ft Palm Beach center console last week. The front storage lid hinges are broke on both lid and compartment. I briefly searches parts on line but dont really see much...is there a trick repairing the hinges or is full replacement the only way?

Thanks in advance.
John

I have attempted to repair the hinges on the hatches but it looks like it's not gonna hold, they are just to old. I think I am gonna replace them but not sure how to size them correct them. Both the center console hatch and the front deck storage hatch opening measure 21 inches in width and 11.5 inches in height...is this a common size? When I look up aftermarket hatches I don't see this size but close ones. Am. Measuring wrong? Should I be measuring frame of old hatch?...there are pics attached above also

Welcome aboard Sicrx69. What we need is a pic showing more area, the bigger picture so to speak. You may find a replacement or you may end up making one, which, when trimmed out will look like it was meant to be there.

Your pics do show there is need for some help. I would first suggest calling the manufacture of the boat (didn't see where you posted) to see if they know where they can be found. If this is not good, next can you find some hinges which you could remove old and install new? I might not look right but it's an option. Otherwise maybe make a template and make some from fiber glass

Ty for response. I did attempt to put some regular hinges on it with rivets but the fiberglass is just too weak to hold the rivets I think. I did locate some faded names and part number on hatch and in the process of finding a match. They are made by tempress and has a model number t4101. I contacted tempress to see if they make a replacement because their website has different model numbers now.

If all else fails, maybe add some more glass to he hatch to thicken it up

Based on what I can see in the pics, (I'd like to see better pics) I agree with AllDodge that it appears the current hatches could be reinforced with some glass fabrics and resin and made to work.
