Live Well lights

Hey people, I am new to the forum, I hope this is the right place to post this question. I have a 2006 Sea Pro SV1700CC that has two live wells. I did not realize that they had lights until the initial waaranty expired(No Manual). Everything works, and the lights are a deep red, but only saw them work once. What is the problem or what can I do to get them to work? Should they not come on when the Live Well pump comes on? Bulbs seem fine, Thanks - Carlos

Re: Live Well lights

I would think they would have to be turned on unless there is a switch on the lids that activate it/them when opened.
I would still say the power switch on the dash would still have to be on though.
Mine come on by switch, but still the main power switch has to be on.

Re: Live Well lights

I have checked all switches, etc. No switch or contact with the lids. This boat was new, the one time I did see them come on they were kind of dimming out. Not really worth taking it into the dealer for this alone, perhaps when I have a scheduled maintenance(sp?), and I mean scheduled the Lord willing. Would there be another fuse in line that I am not seeing?

Re: Live Well lights

My Alumacraft has a separate switch for the live well lights but I've also seen them wired into the NAV/ANC switch. It would be very unreasonable to wire them into the bilge pump. No mystery here. Since neither one works, follow the wires back to whatever switch they are wired to. No - there would not be an in-line fuse for those lights unless the factory electrical dudes were smoking some bad weed the day your boat was built. Since they are obviously intermittent, I would look for a bad ground.
Stick your head under the console and check for a dangling wire. The feed may simply have fallen off the switch.
