I recently had a live well installed in my glastron (gx255) the water pickup is installed at the bottom of the transom (approx) 6 inches below water level the pump is mounted at the back of the engine compartment at the lowest possible point with a straight pipe going through the transom. The live well is under the back seat which is approx 30 - 36 inches max. higher than the pump which is a 500 gph live well pump, there is approx 10 feet of hose from the pump to the tank. The problem is sometimes I turn the pump on you can hear it running however it is not filling the tank, and sometimes it works just fine. it the line possibly getting air locked at times or is the hieght of the tank a problem with that size of pump. Any suggestions.
