Livewell question.

I know nothing about livewells, except when I bought the boat the sales guy told me that is what it was. Looks like a cooler to me. However, this livewell has a black plastic tube that goes down from the livewell then run down the top of the pontoon , hten at the end of the black plastic tubing was this small pump/machine looking thing. That would fit into a neat little bracket thing on the rear of the tube. My problem is the pump or machine thing came out of its bracket and tore off from the black plastic tube. Could anyone tell what the thing that is torn off called, and where to buy one, so I can get it reattached. Thanks so much. Mollie

Re: Livewell question.

Can you go back to the dealer/salesman and ask them what the thing is?... and if they have another one they can sell you?

Re: Livewell question.

Hi Mollie, It sounds like the pump that pumps up fresh water from the lake into the well. This fills the well to keep your bait/catch alive. You should have a switch on the dash to activate. If the pump inlet is not broken just reconnect the fill hose, clamp and your OK. If the hose fitting is broken you'll need to decide if you want to spend $60 fro a new pump. I use my livewell as cooler and never use the pump. If you decide to not replace the pump remember to pull the fuse or cap the wires that belong to that pump.

Thank you Gun Dog. Great advice. Probably try to put it back together, but will still use as a cooler. Enjoy your summer.
