Here's mine, built in a 19 gallon tub - for freshwater shad which are very fragile creatures. One livewell pump pumps water out near the bottom, the discharge is split with half flowing into a filter made from polyester pillow stuffing and activated charcoal in a paint strainer bag, and the other half flows through a venturi for aeration, plus provides a current since these stupid fish will stop breathing without a current. Pump from basspro, pvc fittings from scrap around the house, all the other materials from walmart. Also a diverter on the pump discharge so I can pump it out. Hose fitting for filling from my livewell pump. piano hinge lid cut from plywood. Emergency blanket (mylar blanket, couple bucks in Walmarts camping aisle) for insulation. Trailer side market light for interior illumination.

Re: LIVEWELL SELFMAde

I jsut used a black 33 gallon trash can. I plasce the water incoming nipple low on the bottom part then I jsut drilled a couple of holes on the sides up high. then I went to a hardware store and got some of that gutter guard metal mesh and heated it up till I could melt it where the holes i drilled were so the fish woudlnt fall out. I took the lid and I cut a hole abotu a foot wide on the very center so i could reach in and grab a fish. i got a fishing net for abotu 5$ and attached a longer handle on it
