livewells- do they hang from underside of deck?

not sure if this is the right place to put this, but figured there would be some knowledge here. i’m rebuilding my tyee, and currently installing my livewells. i assumed they sat on the floor and the deck basically sat on the top of the livewell. except i have too much height there. i could assume i made an error in measurement somewhere along the way, but even looking at the pictures from when i tore it apart, it looks like there is a gap between the livewell and either the floor or the deck. as the livewell is bolted to the deck with 12 bolts, i have to assume the live hangs? any input would be greatly appreciated before i continue on and support them at the correct height.

this picture was taken as soon as i had the top off. it appears from this picture that there is about 1/2”-3/4” between top of livewell, and the underside of the top deck. the top deck sits on the aluminum bracket at the front, and on top of the side panel. the livewell is bolted to the top deck, so that makes me think it hangs about that distance off the floor. it is a 22 gallon livewell, so i figured that weight would be better sitting directly on the floor.

my concern is i now have 1” under the livewell with the new panels, and i also assumed the livewell supported the deck. otherwise it only hangs from the front of the console, and the side compartment. looking for ideas and suggestions. i am currently thinking of raising the floor to support it from underneath as well.
