Re: Loading Boat WITHOUT powering up

a lot of the lakes around me are illegal to power load. I personally think its stupid and dangerous. Theres a resort town on one of the more popular lakes. Theres a lot of people who go there and do not follow the rules. The result is damaged boat launches. And most around here only have 2 lanes to do so. If you are in that big of a hurry to get on the lake, arrive earlier.

Thanks for the info everyone!!

Re: Loading Boat WITHOUT powering up

I normally hand load my 22' boat, and feel it is best for the ramp life. However one day last year I went out to a popular local launch ramp along the maumee river. When we returned and proceeded to retrieve our boat, I was chastised by many other boaters there that I was taking to long and should be power loading to go faster for the benefit of others. WE spent all of 6 minutes hand loading our boat, one woman told my wife how inconsiderate we were to others because we took so long to hand load. I have boated for many years and used my watch on many ocassions 5-6 minutes is quite normal loading time for us, but not here, everyone power loads. I have not been back since.
