I need to replace the fuel sender for my Glastron SSV-178. I verified the gauge functions correctly but do not know where to locate the sender. The repair shop wants to rip out the whole floor which may be of use to rehab the interior hull but that isn't equitable at this time. I've been searching for the original manual but have not been successful. Any advice you have is greatly appreciated.

There should be a pop out located above the tank inlets/outlets and level sender. If not then your going to either have to pull up decking or cut a hole to find the sender unit.

Your fuel sender will be on the top of the fuel tank which IS under the deck. It will necessitate removing at least a portion of the deck to gain access to that portion of the tank. More than likely it's gunna be in the center portion of the deck and either a couple of feet in front of the transom or behind the ski locker. Post up some pics so we can see the configuration of your interior layout. You can always replace the cut out portion of the deck and then install an access port in the deck.;)

Thanks for the response Woodonglass. There is an access port right above the gast tank with a red and white cable connected to it. I presumed that was from the sender but the mechanic who is replacing the bilge pump told me it isn't. I'll get photos on Saturday. Thanks for your help.

Just a little difference in sending unit wires, some have red, wht and blk. While mine has just two, red and blk. Sounds to me like you found it just fine, There should be no other wires there at the tank.

I found it sitting 2-3 inches to the left of an access port that sits above the tank. There's a pink and a black wire. I'll have to drill out a hole adjacent to the existing access port.
