I am looking for advice on where to locate my bilge pump discharge fitting.
Previously I ran the discharge hose up through the spashwell and out over the transom.
I am thinking about locating it on the starboard side about 3 inches forward of the transom, about 3-5 inches down from the gunwale.
Basically in the white part of the starboard side just aft of the blue stripe in this picture, or in the upper left part of the starboard side.
My questions are: What do people think about this location? Does this make sense? It will be above the water at all times.
My concerns are, I would like to be able to occasionally look back and see if anything is coming out. But I usually dock starboard side to the dock, and don't really want to put a whole bunch of water on the dock if I forget to turn the pump off.
I don't get a lot of water in my boat, it is aluminum and it does leak a little, and am in the process of finding the leaks. I would say sitting in the water the pump comes on once an hour.
