All of a sudden I have crappy spark across the board and want to disconnect the kill circuit to eliminate the easy stuff first. My manual says a black/yellow connector between power pack and ignition. Can anyone give me a more concise idea of where to look to locate? I lifted the power pack cover and still have not located and don't want to disrupt more than I have to and cause additional problems.
motor ran good on muffs after I completed a fuel pump retro to 83 pump. I did a linknsync, set throttle cable tension as per manual and was set to confirm wot timing. Trying to use joes method I quickly found that the motor would not turn over when at full throttle (duh). I then removed the cam follower (disconnecting throttle plates) and was going to check full timing advance position (as suggested elsewhere in the forum) but had poor spark and a no run. I don't have a 'true' spark tester, just one with a light bulb in it but see from my new inductive timing light that the spark appears intermittant on all four cyls. Yes, I have to get a spark tester with adjustable gap (7/16!) as mentioned repeatedly in forums.
Thanks
