LockTizzite?

So im finnaly getting my boat towed from my slip tommorow to the launch to get the crappy johnson off the back of it, and put my CMC PT130 with the Mercury 90HP on.<br /><br />My question is, since now there will be 8 bolts involved in mounting the motor, thats 4 more chances of something getting loose and dropping the motor in motion. Should i Loctite the bolts when i slap everything on? Or any other product? or should I not worry about this at all and im just being paranoid?<br /><br />Thanks

I use stainless steel bolts with nylock nuts (no need for locktite)... I also use 3M Marine adhesive/sealant (white stuff)in each hold prior to mounting. I have never had a problem. <br />Also, I have a 1965 Chris Craft "Jolly Boat" (15')with a 70 on it right now, but had a Merc 150 V6 on it for a couple of years (SCARY). These Corsairs (Chris Craft bought them in the 60's) were the very first fiberglass Chris's... anyway, welcome brother.....

BushCat - Thanks for the info - I have a 70HP dead johnson on it now....<br /><br />Do you think the transom is strong enough to hold the CMC and the Merc 90? Chris Craft said 90HP was the max, so i guess im good, but the is a 90HP sigging 6" back from the transom

My ID plate says 60hp Max. I had a 115 L6 on it for years with no problems. It was just so heavy in the tail, but we ski'd the heck out of that boat and motor. I put a Johnson 70 on it a couple of years ago to reduce the weight, and still have some guts. Runs and Rides much better now. I am unfamiliar with the XL155 so I do not know if the transom is strong enough. I made a transom plate across the back of mine with little trim tabs, and struts on the inside that spread the load out over the whole back of the boat....you get the idea..
