Just acquired an 14 foot Lonestar aluminum boat id like to restore but need some info on year, model, and paint removal. The aluminum is perfect thru out all i need to do is strip old paint and repaint. What would be the best way to get old peeling paint off? Thanks Craig

Re: Lonestar

I'd start with a Good Pressure washer. I'd then use some of this...

Imperative you wear Respirator and gloves when using this stuff.;) Check the last link in my signature for some info on painting her when you're ready.

Re: Lonestar

Get some plastic sheeting too. Paint on the Stripper then cover with plastic, it really helps keep it from evaporating to quickly and lets it eat the paint a bit longer.

Re: Lonestar

With dimensions of your boat:

Length along centerline from transom to bow

Max beam (width) across the widest part of the boat, generally near/thru the helm seat postion

Transom width/beam

Style of seats (bench)

Number of seat rows

You should be able to find something HERE that helps reference the year/model of your Lone*Star

The 1st 2 pix I looked at had boats that looked similar: 1955 runabout (12', 14', & 16' were available that year) & 1956 Commodore. Both looked very similar to me. But I didn't have the specifics of yours...

Re: Lonestar

How about a 1957 King Commander. It looks like the only one with that seat bracket.
