long or short shaft????

1969 mercury 650/65 hp,,,,,,is it a long or short shaft ?,,,can i safely run this on this boat without a trim/tilt

Yours is a long shaft (20"). A short shaft is (15"). Yes, you can indeed safely run that engine on that boat. Just keep in mind (Especially in shallow water) that you don't have power trim/tilt
