long or short shaft

I have a 1983 Sun Tracker 24 and need to know which shaft lenght I need for this pontoon. At this time there is no motor on the boat that I can go by. Thanks in advance.

Normaly you want a long shaft type, 20 inches.

Difinitely a long shaft (20"). Short shaft will be nothing but grief with prop ventilation.

Thanks guys you have made this project a little easier for me. This is a salvage boat I am putting back together, got it from a guy that had taken it all apart and was about to take all the alum. to the scrap yard. I have it back up to a deck with carpet. Still have a ways to go.
