I am having the 350 mercruiser longblock replaced in my boat (1988) and have the option to go to a roller cam and lifter setup. What are the atvantages ? Less wear? Will it increase the allowable max rpm? Is it worth the added cost? APPX. $150.00 ? Thanks.

Nope,... Not really, it's up to you...
It doesn't, in itself change the rpm limits,...

It's 1 of those, "If ya got it, Good,.. If ya don't, Oh well"....

Re: Longblock

Go for it, first ,a huge drop in frictional loss, second ,acording to the Dyno 2000 engine simulator at least a 20 HP gain. The increase in lift alone is worth HP, you are going from a 400 intake, 410 exhaust to a 430 in 450 ex. The Merc "experts" will tell you there is no difference , anybody who has done the change over (including myself) will tell you about the power increase and much smoother idle.
